THIS IS A TWO WAY STREET


I want to stress this up front, by just putting your film on Amazon, BuyIndies, Film Baby or any sales site out there is not going to generate massive sales on its own. You will generate sales from people that come and browse around for indie films, but you are going to have to do some marketing on your own. These sites can not do it all for you. It has to be a two way street.

I wish it were possible to sell 100, 1000, 10,000 DVD's without lifting a finger. I wish you could put your movie on Amazon and it would shoot up to number 1 in sales rank. Don't worry, I will keep wishing, but until that day comes, we are going to have to work in harmony to get people to know about your film.

Read some of the tips on this site to get some ideas. Some of these ideas are just ramblings, but they are intended to get your mind running in marketing mode. The business side of film really does suck but the marketing can be just as fun as the making of the movie. Use the same creativity you did in your film and you will be very successful.
